FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE,
CONTACT: Ohio Woman Gains International Recognition for Excellence in Online Business Baltimore, Ohio, May 2007 – Fifteen years after launching her humble brick and mortar secretarial business in Baltimore, Ohio, Terry L. Green has found herself on the cutting edge of a technological revolution. Recently nominated for the 2007 Thomas Leonard International Virtual Assistant of Distinction award, Green is an industry trailblazer, showing the world that administrative professionals have the makings of high powered entrepreneurs. Green owns and operates Fastype VA Services, Inc. from her home office in rural Ohio. And while her clientele is anything but “small town” (Fastype assists professional speakers and coaches from around the globe), it is Green’s down to earth approach that wins her lucrative contracts as well as the adulations of her colleagues—both established Virtual Assistants and administrative professionals who aspire to something greater than the routine of nine-to-five. “This is not something you can do on a whim or as a hobby,” states Green. “You must be dedicated. You must earn the privilege of managing your client’s livelihood. And most importantly, you need to be a role model for those who may follow your lead. I’m a real person behind that computer screen, but in the virtual assistance industry, you must keep your personality—your warmth—front and center. If you don’t, you’ll quite literally get lost in cyberspace.” Indeed, it is difficult to go online, both within the VA industry and throughout popular speaking and coaching circles, without running into or hearing about Terry L. Green. And the accolades just keep coming. “She’s very heartfelt in what she does,” comments Lorenda Phillips of Phillips Coaching and Consulting. “I think the best thing about her is that she is very easy to talk to, and so therefore, it’s very easy to communicate what I want.” To celebrate International Virtual Assistants Day (IVAD), an annual event sponsored by the Online International Virtual Assistant Connection (OIVAC), members of the VA community were asked to nominate deserving business men and women who have positively contributed to the industry. Green was notified of her nomination just hours after OIVAC’s online ballot center opened. While technology may be changing the way entrepreneurs do business, Terry L. Green is proving that some ingredients for success are timeless. She says humbly, “I am touched that my professional community has decided to recognize me in this way. I do what I do each day because it is simply my passion to do so, and that makes this nomination that much more special.” The winner of the Thomas Leonard International Virtual Assistant of Distinction Award will be announced at the IVAD Virtual Award Ceremony on May 18, 2007.
