Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2007 everyone! 2006 has come and gone, and it's the perfect
time to take stock of your business by taking a look at where you've
been, where you are now, and where we want to go in the months ahead.
Its' a great time to review and update your business and marketing
plans, review ongoing goals and set new ones, clean out your office and
get rid of excess paper and clutter, save time and money by partnering
with a Virtual Assistant, and schedule some time to attend a couple of
events or teleclasses that will help meet your goals and take your
business to the next level. Speaking of events ... check out the Speaker
Summit 2007 in the Upcoming Events & Teleclasses section below. Last
year's Speaker Summit was a huge success, and I'll be attending the 2007
event as a vendor again this year. You can check out the program at

I'd love to see you there!

What Makes a Great Speaker
By Sandra Schrift
When people hear that I owned a national, professional
speakers bureau for 13 years, they often ask me, who are the best
speakers and why? What follows are some of the characteristics of a
very successful speaker who is often a highly paid speaker.
'Tell' em what you're going to tell them,
tell them, and then tell' em what you told them."
-
They arrive early and check out
the sound system and introduce themselves to
audience members during the
networking time.
-
They speak on a subject that their audience needs
to hear. And they use words and body language that show
their passion and authenticity.
-
They connect with their audience in the first few
minutes with a riveting story, a funny incident, a
startling statement or perhaps a poem. They know how to
make their opening remarks relate to the material that
follows.
